Racing Genk resigned to losing 27-goal striker linked with Celtic and Lyon
Published: March 20, 2021Racing Genk's technical director Dimitri De Condé has admitted that it is increasingly likely that Paul Onuachu will bid farewell to the Belgian First Division A side in the summer transfer window.
The Nigeria national teamer has been linked with possible moves to Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic and Olympique Lyonnais but it appears the French Ligue 1 club are in a stronger position financially to sign the striker valued at 17 million euros by transfer market experts.
In 32 matches across all competitions this season, Onuachu has left the pitch without scoring in 12 games, and has totaled 27 goals - his best return since he turned professional.
"Paul is in great demand. He is a unique type and he scores often," De Condé said to Eleven Sports via Voetbal Primeur.
"It is a challenge for us to keep him, but he also has an age that will make it very difficult to keep him on board."
Signed from Danish champions FC Midtjylland in the summer of 2019, Onuachu has a contract with Genk until June 30, 2024.
