'It's going to be two hard games' - Eagles defender Troost-Ekong on AFCONQ vs Benin, Lesotho
Published: March 23, 2021Watford center back William Troost-Ekong has predicted that the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Republic of Benin and Lesotho will be difficult.
Gernot Rohr's team are currently top of Group L in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after an impressive start that saw them register back-to-back wins against the Squirrels and Crocodiles.
The Super Eagles showed character to come from behind to secure wins against the two opponents in November 2019.
"We are taking these games very seriously, but it's not going to be as easy as saying and just doing that, we have to really work hard because when we played against Benin in Uyo it was a very difficult game and they have got a good team," Troost-Ekong told reporters, including Channels TV.
"The same thing for Lesotho when we played away there, even though we played well in the end, it was difficult at the start.
"It's going to be two hard games but we are going to go for the maximum."

Troost-Ekong has gone the distance in all the four matches played by the Super Eagles in AFCON qualifying, captaining the team twice.
