Agent backs Osimhen to challenge ex-Man Utd stars Ronaldo, Lukaku, Ibrahimovic for Serie A top scorer award
Published: May 12, 2021Victor Osimhen's agent, William D'Avila is tipping the Napoli striker to battle former Manchester United strikers Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the top scorer award in the Serie A next season.
Having struggled in the first half of the season and written off by majority of the fans and pundits, Osimhen has taken his game to another level in recent weeks.
Since recovering from a head injury in March, the Nigeria international has directly participated in ten goals (8 goals, 2 assists) in twelve matches in the top-flight.
Three matches to the end of the season, Osimhen is 17 goals behind leading scorer, Juventus' Ronaldo, while Inter Milan's Lukaku (21)and AC Milan's Ibrahimovic (15) have scored more goals than him, but D'Avila expects that to change in 2021-2022.
Asked if Osimhen is ready to challenge Ronaldo, Lukaku and Ibrahimovic for the top scorer award next season, D'Avila told Calcio Napoli 24 : "Of course he will! Get ready".
In terms of minutes-per-goal ratio, Osimhen has done better than Napoli legend Gonzalo Higuaín in his first season with the Blues.
D'Avila added : "He is doing his job, he came here to part of the history of Napoli. He will try to do more next season".
