Rohr provides update on Osimhen, Ighalo; observations after first training session in Morocco
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is still awaiting the arrival of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, Al-Shabab star Odion Ighalo and Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble ahead of the national team's 2022 World Cup qualifier against Liberia.

The Super Eagles have already gotten down to business in Morocco, the players worked out in the gym on Tuesday morning and had a feel of the Grand Stade de Tanger turf in the afternoon.

Today's workout wasn't too intense bearing in mind that most of the players will be fatigued after their trip from Europe.

Rohr is hoping to have at his disposal the full complement of players by Wednesday and shared his observations after the team's first workout on grass.

The former Bayern Munich defender spoke about how happy he is with the state of the Grand Stade de Tanger pitch and the weather conditions in Tangier.

Speaking to Super Eagles Media Officer, Babafemi Raji, Rohr said : "We have 21 players, two goalkeepers. We are still missing three players who will come tomorrow but it was a good training session.

"We already started in the hotel this morning with a good fitness to recover and this afternoon we could see how it is here at 5pm which is the time of the match on Saturday.

"It was okay, we had a good feeling with the players, some of them played two days ago and traveled so we have to be careful for the injuries.

"Everything went well, we had some good goals. I saw we had some shooting exercises. The week is starting well, it is good that we have wonderful conditions in Morocco to train, to prepare.

"I hope that tomorrow everybody will be here. Normally Osimhen will arrive tonight and tomorrow we'll have Ighalo and Noble who replaces Uzoho who cannot make it.

"We hope that everything will go well without any injuries, and the match will be on Saturday afternoon in good condition also with this good weather and wonderful pitch we have in this stadium in Tangier."

After four matches in Group C of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria are leading the way with nine points accumulated, two more than nearest challengers Cape Verde.
