Reims keen to extend loan deal for Arsenal striker Balogun

French Ligue 1 club Stade de Reims are keen to extend the loan deal for Arsenal-owned striker Folarin Balogun.
Foot Sur 7 making reference to Reims-based regional newspaper L'Union says the England U21 international of Nigerian descent could stay in Reims a little longer than expected because the club's higher-ups would very much like to extend the loan of the Hale End Academy graduate.
Balogun joined the six-time French champions on a season-long loan in August without an option to buy included in the deal.
As allnigeriasoccer.com has been reporting, Arsenal cannot recall Balogun from his loan spell when the transfer window reopens for business in January 2023 simply because they didn't include a clause that allows them to terminate the deal before its expiration next summer.
Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot hopes that Arsenal would agree to loan Balogun to the same club for two consecutive seasons.
The Red and Whites are delighted with the performances of the Anglo-Nigerian who was named the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month for August.
Balogun has scored five goals and provided an assist in eight Ligue 1 appearances and it remains to be seen whether Reims can reach an agreement with Arsenal.
