Revealed : Length of new deal signed by talented Liverpool defender of Nigerian descent
Published: April 27, 2023
Premier League giants Liverpool announced on Wednesday that talented Spanish-born Nigerian central defender Wellity Lucky has signed his first professional contract.
The Anfield side have not disclosed the length of the new deal signed by the England underage international.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Lucky put pen to paper on a contract that would see him remain at Liverpool until at least the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Lucky has caps for England's U15 and U16 national teams and was invited to Spain's U17 national team in January 2023 for a friendly against Italy but did not make his debut for the Spaniards.
Born in Zaragoza to Nigerian parents seventeen years ago, Lucky turned out for the youth teams of San Gregorio Arrabal and Real Zaragoza before moving to England along with his parents.
The 17-year-old is predominantly a central defender and is also comfortable playing as a right-back.
Lucky is looked after by Closeview Management, owned by a Nigerian Gbolahan Adarabioyo.
