The real deal: Chelsea target Nusa enhances his burgeoning reputation with goal and assist for Club Brugge
Published: September 17, 2023Chelsea target Antonio Nusa continued his brilliant start to the season with a goal and assist as Club Brugge came from behind to beat Sporting Charleroi in a Jupiler Pro League match at the Jan-Breydel-Stadion on Saturday night.
Nusa's future at the 18-time Belgian champions is now a hot topic of discussion among football fans across the world on the back of his impressive performances for Club Brugge and the Norwegian national team.
Chelsea attempted to bring the Norwegian-Nigerian wonderkid to Stamford Bridge in the hours leading up to the close of the summer transfer window but saw their 30 million euros bid rejected by Club Brugge.
The Blues continue to monitor the progress of Nusa ahead of the reopening of the transfer window but would be facing competition from a number of top European clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Against Sporting Charleroi, Nusa came off the bench midway through the second half with the game deadlocked at 2-2 and with both teams searching for a winning goal.
Three minutes from time, the two-cap Norway international gave Club Brugge the lead for the first time in the game when his cross-shot ended up in the back of the net.
And all hopes of a comeback by Sporting Charleroi ended in stoppage time when Nusa teed up Ferran Jutglà, who hammered the ball home to wrap up the scoring.
The 18-year-old Nusa has registered nine goal involvements in 13 games for club and country this season.
