Report: Crystal Palace ahead of Wolves and Leeds United in race for Super Eagles defender
Published: December 23, 2023
Crystal Palace are leading Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United in the race to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel.
According to Teamtalk, the London-based side's recruitment team have been impressed with the Super Eagles defender's performances for Fenerbahçe this season and want to bring him over to the Selhurst Park.
The 25-year-old has played a pivotal role in helping Fenerbahçe have a brilliant start to the season which has seen them stay atop the Süper Lig at the moment albeit being level on points with Galatasaray.
The Blackpool Academy product has started all games he has been made available for selection and has 2 goals and one assist which is more than his goal contributions last season.
Crystal Palace are aware of the fact that the Nigeria international's current deal ends in 2025 and are hoping they can get him at a reduced price next year.
The Eagles would be encouraged by the fact that Osayi-Samuel has declared his intention to return to English football where he started his career.
The right-back started his career with Blackpool where he made 79 appearances across all competitions before joining Queens Park Rangers in 2017.
He left England in January 2021 to join Fenerbahçe and has made 123 appearances across all the competitions for the Turkish side.
