Tottenham ruled out of signing N205b-rated Napoli striker Osimhen after Postecoglou reveal

Manager Ange Postecoglou has inferred that Tottenham Hotspur will not be in the running for the signature of Victor Osimhen amid speculation linking the Nigerian striker with a transfer to the Premier League in the summer.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has a release clause in the region of 100 million pounds (approximately N205 billion in Nigerian currency) which must be triggered before Napoli can agree to terminate their contract with the number 9.
Shortly after winning the Golden Boot award at the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup, the ex-Golden Eaglets sensation was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham, only for his agent to dismiss the reports.
Osimhen attracted genuine interest from the Lilywhites during his Lille days but the center forward opted to join Napoli instead as he did not want to play second fiddle to the club's legendary striker Harry Kane.
Speaking before Tottenham's Premier League meeting with Aston Villa, Postecoglou insisted that it does not make sense for the north London club to spend 100 million pounds on a single player.
In quotes relayed by Reuters, Postecoglou said: "I don't think we are in a position to spend 100 million pounds on a player. That is not the case and I don't think it will ever be the case for the club.
"Our competitors are (spending), irrespective of the positions (they are in)...I have always felt with those things it is not what you spend, it is how you spend it."
In recent transfer windows, clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have spent 100 million pounds on a single player.
