'I achieved that’ – Onyeka opens up on his mission at Augsburg after Brentford return

Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has opened up about his key objective during his loan spell at FC Augsburg, declaring he achieved his main target following his return to parent club Brentford.
Onyeka, while speaking to the club, revealed that before making the move last summer, his primary objective was to secure consistent playing time at the Bundesliga club.
The Nigerian international featured in 31 Bundesliga matches for the Fuggerstadter, providing one assist in a campaign that saw the Bavarian outfit fall short of securing a European spot.
Speaking to Augsburg's official website, the 27-year-old praised the coaches and his teammates for believing in his abilities and helping him accomplish his goals.
"My main goal coming here was to start every game possible, and I achieved that," he said. "But credit to the trainer and the players who believed in my abilities to help the team."
Despite not meeting all collective expectations, Onyeka said he leaves Augsburg with pride and gratitude.
"I guess I did everything I could to help the team in every way I can and I will say I'm partially satisfied because we could not get to what we hoped for."
While delivering an emotional farewell message, Onyeka lauded the support and warmth he received during his time in Germany, acknowledging the team's collective disappointment at not achieving their primary goal.
"I think I will say thank you to the club. They made me feel welcome," Onyeka said.
"If I look back at the season, we did great things, unfortunately, lost some games, and drew, but what we had in mind to achieve as a club, we could not do but credit to everyone the players and the coaches.
"I guess they will keep going and I hope next season they will achieve better.
"Good feelings. When I came here, I thought it was going to be difficult for me. Everyone made it so much easier, so for me, I am having a good feeling about leaving this place."
With his future now back in the hands of Brentford, Onyeka is expected to return to England ahead of the new season, hoping to leverage the valuable experience gained in Germany to earn more regular minutes in the Premier League.
