Spanish La Liga club Levante are on the verge of announcing the signing of Austria U19 international of Nigerian descent Ifeanyi Ndukwe.
According to Nacho Sanchis, a radio host at À Punt Esports, Levante have reached an agreement to sign Ndukwe, with the highly-rated teenage defender expected to arrive in Valencia on Thursday to complete the formalities of the move.
Levante have kept a close eye on the dual-national player since spotting him at the 2025 Fifa U17 World Cup in Qatar and have been working to convince him to join the club.
Liverpool approved Ndukwe's loan move because they see Levante as a club where young players have a clear pathway to the first team and are given opportunities to develop.
Ndukwe's imminent move to Spain is not purely for sporting reasons as he has yet to earn enough points to obtain the work permit required to play in England.
Unable to feature for Liverpool's first team in the Premier League, his proposed move to Levante will give him the opportunity to play regular first team football at a high level.
The Reds' long-term plans for the Austrian-Nigerian centre-back were highlighted by the prominent role he played during pre-season, with Ndukwe featuring in the club's friendlies against Sunderland, Wrexham, Leeds United and Monaco.
Signed from Austria Vienna this summer, Ndukwe has a contract with the Premier League giants until June 30, 2031.
Levante will cover his salary during his season-long loan spell in Spain, with no option to buy included in the agreement.
