Czech top-flight club Baník Ostrava continued preparations for their first match after the international break with a training session on Wednesday.
Baník will travel to Bohemians 1905 on Saturday for their 10th league match of the 2026-2027 season.
One of the notable absentees from Wednesday’s session was Abdullahi Bewene, who was on international duty with the Super Eagles on Tuesday evening, playing the full 90 minutes in Nigeria’s 3-3 draw with Russia.
The right-back, who earned only his third cap for Nigeria, was one of the more experienced players in the experimental side fielded by head coach Eric Chelle.
Bewene made a notable contribution to Nigeria’s opening goal, setting up Kelechi Iheanacho to put the Super Eagles ahead in the 10th minute.
According to Baník Ostrava’s official website, Bewene is expected to return to the club on Thursday and will join the team for the final two days of training ahead of the trip to Bohemians.
Having played the full 90 minutes against Russia, the defender is expected to be available for selection on Saturday.
Bewene has been a regular for Baník this season, starting eight of their matches and making one additional appearance from the bench.
