Besiktas defender Uduokhai linked with imminent return to German football

Besiktas defender Felix Uduokhai has reportedly reached an agreement with Bundesliga club Union Berlin over a move in the current summer window.

The experienced defender joined Besiktas on a permanent deal in 2025, following a successful loan spell during the 2024/2025 campaign.

The German-born Nigerian player has been linked with a move away from the club due to his current contract situation.

Uduokhai, who has one year remaining on his contract, has attracted interest from several clubs as Besiktas face uncertainty over his future at the Besiktas Stadium in Istanbul.

According to Turkish pundit Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the 28-year-old is close to securing a return to the Bundesliga with Union Berlin.

The German club reportedly sees Uduokhai as an experienced addition to strengthen their defensive options as they look to improve on their performances from last season.

Uduokhai has previously featured in the Bundesliga with Augsburg and Wolfsburg, giving him valuable experience of German football.

With only a few days remaining before the close of the current summer window, Uduokhai will be keen to resolve his future and secure a move that could see him return to the Bundesliga and continue his career in Germany.
