Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has heaped praise on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen ahead of their clash against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Osimhen, who recently returned from injury, has been a key figure for the Turkish Super Lig champions, scoring six goals and providing three assists in five league appearances this season.
The Nigeria international further demonstrated his importance to the team by providing an assist as Galatasaray secured a 3-1 victory over Kasimpasa on his return from injury.
Speaking after Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Getafe on Saturday, Flick acknowledged the quality of the Turkish side and stressed that his players must be prepared for a hostile atmosphere at Rams Park.
“We'll be playing against Galatasaray on Tuesday,” Flick said via Fotomac.
“We'll be playing in the world's loudest stadium. We need to prepare for that. This is the Champions League , it's different. Every team in the Champions League is very good."
The German manager warned Barcelona against underestimating Galatasaray, while praising Osimhen and describing him as a fantastic player.
“Galatasaray have a fantastic striker like Osimhen, they really have a great squad. We need to be ready for this match. We must play our best football against Galatasaray."
Osimhen is expected to return to the starting line-up against Barcelona, having last started in September’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Başakşehir.
The former African Footballer of the Year will be eager to inspire Galatasaray and help the Turkish champions secure a positive result against Barcelona, boosting their chances of progressing to the Champions League knockout phase.
