Nigerian forward Bamidele Yusuf played a key role as Ferencvaros opened their UEFA Europa League league-phase campaign with a 3-1 victory over Celtic at Celtic Park on Thursday.
Yusuf gave the Hungarian side the perfect start in the 20th minute after receiving the ball from Kristoffer Zachariassen. The 25-year-old cut inside before sending his effort towards the far corner, with the shot taking a deflection off Liam Scales and finding the bottom corner.
Celtic responded before the break when Mika Baur levelled the score in the 44th minute after being set up by Kieran Tierney.
Ferencvaros quickly regained their advantage, with Yusuf again involved in the build-up.
The Nigerian delivered the assist for Zachariassen, who finished with a backheel in first-half stoppage time to restore the visitors' lead.
Ferencvaros then extended their advantage just two minutes into the second half.
Yusuf registered his second assist of the night by setting up Daniel Arzani, who curled a superb effort into the top corner to make it 3-1.
The result capped a memorable European outing for Yusuf, who finished the night with a goal and two assists against the Scottish giants.
His latest display also adds to a productive start to the season.
Before Thursday's trip to Scotland, Yusuf had already scored against Trabzonspor and Vojvodina in the Europa League qualifying play-offs and registered two goals and an assist in the Hungarian top flight.
