Super Eagles Media Officer Promise Efoghe has warned Madagascar ahead of Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, insisting the current team is different from the side that suffered a shock defeat to the island nation in 2019.
Nigeria suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Madagascar's Barea in the group stage of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
Speaking at ahead of the clash in Uyo, Efogbe noted that the Super Eagles under coach Eric Chelle have developed a strong mentality, saying they either win or draw when they face opponents.
"I heard you talk about how Madagascar shocked the Eagles in the African Cup of Nations in 2019, that's seven years ago," Promise told TVC.
"This is not that same Eagles, this is the Eric Chelle Super Eagles, where when they come against an opposition, it is win or draw."
He added that even when Nigeria struggles to win, they are difficult to defeat.
He also described Uyo as home for the Super Eagles, highlighting their strong record in front of the fans at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
"I heard someone say that if the Eagles find it difficult to win a game, you don't get to beat them. This is home for the Eagles," he said.
"Uyo has been home for several years and they get to win when they play in front of the fans here at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium."
The Super Eagles commenced preparations for the AFCON qualifiers on Monday, with 23 players taking part in Tuesday evening's training session.
