Fenerbahce stars have revealed the Nigerian footballer who comes to mind first when they hear the word Nigeria, with Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha emerging as the overwhelming choice.
In a video circulating on social media featuring several members of the Turkish giants, Marco Asensio, Archie Brown, N’Golo Kante, Romelu Lukaku, Mert Mulder, Vedat Muriqi and Dorgeles Nene all immediately named Okocha.
Mason Greenwood was the only player to give a different answer, opting for former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel.
Okocha's popularity among the Fenerbahce squad is perhaps unsurprising given his memorable spell at the Istanbul club between 1996 and 1998.
The attacking midfielder quickly became a fan favourite during his time in Turkey before going on to enjoy a distinguished career with Paris Saint-Germain and Bolton Wanderers.
Interestingly, none of the players mentioned Victor Osimhen, despite the striker's impressive spell with Fenerbahce's Istanbul rivals Galatasaray.
Okocha registered 52 goal involvements (33 goals and 19 assists) in 79 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow Canaries.
