Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has reacted to the inclusion of Super Eagles-eligible forward Rio Ngumoha in the England national team squad, noting that the youngster deserves the invitation.
Ngumoha has had a decent start to the campaign with the Reds, featuring in three of their four Premier League matches since the start of the season.
The young forward was rewarded for his brilliant start to the campaign with an inclusion in the England national team squad for the UEFA Nations League encounters against Spain, Czechia and Croatia.
The Spanish manager believes Ngumoha, alongside Alex Scott, whom he previously managed at Bournemouth, deserves the invitation to the national team camp ahead of the encounters.
Speaking ahead of the clash against Bournemouth on Friday, Iraola said he is very happy for Ngumoha and believes the youngster will impress for England.
"Very happy for both. They both absolutely deserve it. They also went to help the national team before the tournament and I'm sure they did a good job,” Iraola said.
“I can only speak well about both. Very deserved, very ready. And I hope they both enjoy it, yes."
Ngumoha, who joined the Reds from Chelsea, enjoyed a breakout campaign with Liverpool last season, netting the winning goal against Newcastle United on his Premier League debut at St. James' Park.
His impressive performance last season earned him a place in the England's training camp ahead of the FIFA World Cup, featuring in a friendly clash against New Zealand.
