Super Eagles manager Eric Chelle has refused to reveal whether he will stick with the same tactical formation when Nigeria face Guinea-Bissau at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau on Tuesday, September 29.
The Franco-Malian tactician set up his team in a 4-4-2 formation at the start of Friday's 2-1 win over Madagascar, but switched to 4-2-3-1 as the game progressed.
George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor scored on their Super Eagles debuts as Nigeria came from behind to beat Madagascar 2-1 in their 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Against the run of play, Ehsan Kari beat Nigeria’s offside trap and headed the ball into the net from about eight yards following a well-worked short-corner routine in the 16th minute.
Asked how the Super Eagles intend to cope with the demands of an away game after falling behind in Uyo, Chelle said he was satisfied with the way his players responded against Madagascar.
"I don't think the first half was very bad. Like I said, we made one mistake and after that, if you watch the game, you'll see that we had five or six chances to score a goal. Sometimes football is like that," Chelle told reporters at the post-match press conference.
"When you play against a low block, it's very difficult to score a goal. Sometimes you can become crazy and do a lot of things. You can start to play quickly and it will be very difficult. I am happy they found a solution."
Looking ahead to the Guinea-Bissau clash on matchday two of the Afcon qualifiers, Chelle kept his tactical plans close to his chest when asked whether he would retain the same system for the away fixture.
"Now we have to forget this game, analyze what we did. And after, we have a second game in Guinea-Bissau. his is not the same team. They have their strengths and weaknesses.
"I have to think what we will do in Guinea-Bissau. I cannot tell you whether we will play that system or not.
"We have to go with our state of mind, and after we will play that game."
Guinea-Bissau currently lead Group L after beating Tanzania 2-0 in their opening Afcon qualifying fixture.
