Keep, loan or sell? Arsenal make transfer decision on Super Eagles target ahead of deadline day

Premier League champions Arsenal have reportedly made a decision on the future of Super Eagles target Ethan Nwaneri ahead of the close of the summer transfer window.

Nwaneri, who graduated from the Hale End Academy, endured a difficult campaign last season, struggling to command regular playing time despite spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille.

The young midfielder joined Marseille during the winter window and made just nine league appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

His limited playing time has raised concerns and created uncertainty surrounding his future at the Emirates Stadium, with reports linking him with a possible move away from the club.

Nwaneri’s situation has attracted further attention after he was left out of Arsenal’s matchday squad for their Community Shield victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

According to English outlet BBC, the Gunners are prioritising loan offers for the teenage midfielder as they look to secure regular playing time for him and allow him to continue his development.

Arsenal are reportedly not interested in selling Nwaneri permanently as they want to retain control over his future and give him the opportunity to return to the first team after gaining valuable experience elsewhere.

With the summer transfer window closing in a few days, Nwaneri will be keen to sort out his future and secure consistent playing time as he looks to rediscover his best form and revive his career.
