Championship club Sheffield United have officially announced the transfer of Nigerian winger Christian Nwachukwu to Azerbaijan Premier League side Sabah FC.
The Blades noted that the transfer remains subject to international clearance.
Nwachukwu ended his association with Sheffield United after signing a three-year contract with Sabah FC, valid until the end of the 2028-2029 season.
He joined Sheffield United in February 2025 from Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv following an impressive spell in the Bulgarian top flight.
The 20-year-old caught the attention of the English club after an encouraging campaign with Botev Plovdiv, where he registered five goals and three assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
However, despite completing the move to Bramall Lane, the Nigerian youngster was unable to make his senior debut after failing to secure the necessary work permit to play in England.
To continue his development, Nwachukwu spent the second half of last season on loan at Turkish side Serik Spor, where he continued to showcase his qualities in attack.
The versatile winger impressed with his pace, direct running and ability to operate on either flank, contributing one goal and two assists in 11 appearances during his spell in Turkey.
Following his permanent move to Sabah FC, Nwachukwu will be hoping for regular playing time as he continues his development and looks to establish himself at senior level.
Known for his direct style of play, dribbling ability and versatility across the attacking positions, the Nigerian winger will be eager to settle quickly in Azerbaijan and justify the faith shown in him as he begins the next chapter of his career.
