FC Midtjylland legend Rilwan Hassan has returned to the Danish Superliga club, taking up a new role as assistant coach of the U19 team.
The 35-year-old joined Midtjylland at just 16 after moving from the club's strategic partner in Nigeria, FC Ebedei.
He went on to spend more than a decade with the club, making 264 first team appearances and helping them win two Danish league titles and a Danish Cup.
Hassan left Midtjylland in 2019 to join Sønderjyske before continuing his playing career with Indian side Sreenidi Deccan FC and Norwegian club HamKam.
Now, he is back where his professional journey began, this time stepping into coaching.
Hassan will work alongside U19 coach Svend Graversen as he begins the next chapter of his career.
Commenting on his appointment, Hassan told the official website of Midtjylland: "I look forward to learning an incredible amount as a coach, because I know a lot about being a player, but now it's a new role that I have to get to know.
"I am happy that I will be working closely with Svend Graversen. He will teach me a lot. I know him from when I was a player at the club, so it is a good opportunity for me to start under him."
