Nigerian forward Samuel Adeniran inspired LASK to reach the league phase of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history after a sensational 5-1 victory over Scottish Premiership powerhouse Celtic on Tuesday evening.
Things have been going exceptionally well for Adeniran in the new season, with the Houston native tallying an impressive seven goals from six matches in all competitions.
Trailing by three goals from the first leg, the Austrian Bundesliga champions staged a remarkable comeback, with Moses Usor, Robert Ljubicic, Adeniran and Florian Flecker all finding the net to force extra time after Callum McGregor had put Celtic ahead.
Adeniran produced the match-winning moment in the 109th minute, beating goalkeeper Sinisalo with a strike from distance.
The 27-year-old admitted he was overcome with emotion after LASK's stunning comeback victory over Celtic.
"It's unbelievable. I really believed in it, I'm so proud of my teammates," Adeniran told Sky, via Laola1.
Reflecting on the remarkable comeback, the in-form striker praised his teammates for refusing to give up despite the huge deficit.
"To come back like that after being 3-0 down - a dream has come true. I cried after the game. Only Jesus could have helped me," he added.
Samuel Adeniran is the son of former Abiola Babes captain Victor Ogunsanya, who now goes by the name Adebisi Adeniran.
