Osimhen's Galatasaray teammate named in Russia's final squad to face Nigeria in October friendly

Galatasaray midfielder Aleksey Batrakov has been named in Russia's squad for the upcoming international window, which includes a friendly against Nigeria in October.

The Russian Football Union announced the squad for the national team's autumn training camp, which will begin on September 21.

Manager Valery Karpin has selected four goalkeepers, ten defenders, twelve midfielders and three forwards in his 29-man squad list, with CSKA Moscow contributing the most players(5).

Russia are scheduled to play three international friendlies during the camp, starting with a clash against Iran in Kazan on September 29.

They will then face Namibia in Yekaterinburg on October 3 before taking on Nigeria in Nizhny Novgorod three days later.

Batrakov, who joined Galatasaray in August 2026, where he is a teammate of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, is among the midfielders selected by Russia for the upcoming fixtures.

The attacking midfielder will have the opportunity to feature against Nigeria when both teams meet on October 6.

Russia's squad includes Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, while Aleksandr Golovin of Monaco and Atlanta United's Alexey Miranchuk are also among the notable names called up.
