Published: November 08, 2013
One name stuck out in the Golden Eaglets 6 - 1 hammering of the young Tricolor of Mexico - Kelechi Iheanacho.
The starlet bagged four goals in the match and has been credited with one other strike as well as seven assists in the ongoing tournament which comes to a climax this evening.
Kelechi Iheanacho, who is being chased by a plethora of clubs in the English Premier League including Arsenal, has said that the team have improved since they encountered the Latin Americans in their Group F opener.
“I’m sure they won’t feel great about that first result . They’ll want to put pressure on us and we’ll have to be careful.
“We’ll respect them, but it’s hard to go against us when we’re playing our good football,”,” Iheanacho told FIFA.com.
During the tournament, Kelechi Iheanacho has played mainly as an attacking midfielder but can also be handy in attack.
“We have to work as a team, play as a team. This is how you win matches,” he added.
Nigeria are top of the scoring charts with 23 goals, one short of the tournament record held by Germany.
