Fifa Supremo Sepp Blatter Hails King Kanu
Published: June 22, 2014
Fifa President, Sepp Blatter, had a brief talk with Nigerian Football Ambassador, Nwankwo Kanu, during the match between Nigeria and Bosnia - Herzegovina on Saturday evening in Cuiaba.
Nwankwo Kanu represented Nigeria at three World Cups - 1998,2002 and 2010 - and was instrumental in the Under 23 Team winning the gold medal at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.
“Great to meet you @papilokanu in Cuiaba. Congrats for great work with your Heart Foundation. Doesn’t seem 18 yrs ago,” Sepp Blatter said on his official Twitter page.
NFF President, Aminu Maigari witnessed the meeting between Nwankwo Kanu and the Fifa supremo.
The former Arsenal and Ajax Amsterdam hero is in Brazil to lend his support to the Super Eagles, and his visit to Vitoria Hotel Concept last week was not in vain as Nigeria got their World Cup campaign back on track by defeating Bosnia 1 - 0.
