The soon - to - be 30 - year - old is now the fourth leading marksman in Major League Soccer, behind Bradley Wright - Philips, Dwyer and Robbie Keane.

Clint Dempsey opened scoring in the 11th minute, followed by goals from Martins (2) and Pappa while Deshorn Brown scored what turned out to be a consolation for the home side in the 43rd minute.

Obafemi Martins has netted five braces this season, which came in games against Chicago Fire, Portland Timbers, Chivas USA and Colarado Rapids.
