Published: February 09, 2015
CSKA Sofia midfielder Sunday Stephen has claimed that he did not have the intention of departing the Bulgaria powerhouse in the winter transfer market, amid reports linking him with teams in Germany, Russia and Norway.
The ex Spain Under 20 international has targeted winning the league at the end of this season, and that is a possibility as the club top the standings after 19 rounds.
“ I want to finish the season as it started. For me the most important thing is to become champions. Everyone has their personal and team goals, but I put this - we are on top.
“I know the club from Germany was following me, but I have no particular desire to leave the team. I will be happy to fulfill my contract,” Stephen was quoted as saying by sportal.bg.
Sunny Stephen has appeared 18 times for CSKA Sofia in the topflight this season, missing only one game due to suspension.
The 26 - year - old has a valid contract with The Armymen until the end of next season.
