Exclusive : Abu Dhabi And Swedish Clubs Join Race For Al-Shamal Target, Barnabas Imenger Jr
Published: February 16, 2015
According to leaks gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com’s
editorial staff, Barnabas Imenger Jr’s proposed switch to Qatar Stars League side Al-Shamal SC is on the brink of collapse.
Letting the cat out of the bag, manager Dragan Cvetkovi will only rubber-stamp the acquisition of Imenger on the condition that one of the foreign players in the squad is released so as to accommodate the Nigeria international.
But that is not forthcoming at the moment as the Argentinian player earmarked for axing is still at Al-Shamal SC.
The plan B is that the Lobi Stars forward will trial with a team based in Abu Dhabi in the coming days if his minders do not get a positive feedback from Qatar, while a return to Sweden is also a possibility.
The 23 - year - old was linked with a move to Smouha Sports Club in the January transfer window, only for the deal to collapse after the Egyptian club reneged on an earlier agreement to pay Lobi Stars a transfer fee.
