New Aktobe Signing Dele Adeleye Reveals Sparta Rotterdam Blocked Everton Move
Published: March 09, 2015
Nigeria international Dele Adeleye has penned a two - year deal with Kazakhstan Premier League side FC Aktobe, after shredding the agreement he had with OFI Crete.
Speaking to the official website of the Kazakhstan powerhouse during his unveiling, the central defender has claimed that he was close to a move to Everton five years ago, only for Sparta Rotterdam to screw up the deal.
“Sparta, which I belonged, failed to reach an agreement with Everton. And so I was not averse to play in the English Premier League.
“Nevertheless, I’m glad that I was able to interest Aktobe. In the next two years I will only think about this team. If you’re lucky, maybe more,” said Dele Adeleye.
The Shooting Stars product is yet to make his official debut for Aktobe.
