COD Ladies Claim Lagos FA Cup Title
Published: April 06, 2015
COD Ladies upset defending champions FC Robo 3-1 in the final of the 2015 Lagos State Women FA Cup on Monday.
Goals from Patience Dike, Vivian Ikechukwu and Agams Nkechi cancelled out the early opener from Christopher Helen at the Agege Township Stadium.
Young striker Christopher Helen broke the deadlock and put the defending champions as early as the 3rd minute.
Despite the early setback, the Ann Chijiene tutored girls stuck to their pattern and attacked the territory.
The deadlock, though, was eventually broken by COD Ladies twenty six minutes into the game with Dike grabbing the equaliser.
Ikechukwu then made room ahead of her opponent and glanced her effort past goalkeeper Igwe Rita for the second goal for COD.
It got better for the coach Ann’s side four minutes before the break when explosive striker Agams put the game beyond Robo.
