John Ogu Barred From Training With Hapoel Beer Sheva
Published: April 08, 2015
John Ogu was barred from training with his teammates at Hapoel Beer Sheva on Tuesday for usurping the authority of the powers that be at the Israeli Premier League side.
In the aftermath of the 3 - 1 loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv two days ago, the Nigeria international failed to appear in the dressing room, and he was nowhere to be seen despite failing to get approval from coach Elisha Levy.
According to reports in the Israeli media, he will need to explain his actions to the club’s CEO on Thursday and could be financially sanctioned if his remarks are unsatisfactory.
Against the champions, the central midfielder was cautioned for the fifth time this season, and will miss the game against Ironi Kiryat Shmona on the 18th of this month.
Apart from one or two skirmishes with his teammate and club, John Ogu has had an outstanding season so far, featuring in every single game contested by The Camels bar one, which he missed through suspension.
He has netted four goals in the Premier League, his best - ever goal haul since he moved to Europe from nursery team Flying Sport Academy in 2006.
