Iheanacho Senior Claims : I Am Sick, I Did Not Watch Game Against Brazil
Published: June 02, 2015
Kelechi Iheanacho’s father, Pa James, has denied that he was angry with Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba for subbing out the Manchester City striker 15 minutes from time against Brazil.
James Iheanacho has audaciously claimed that he did not watch the game that was televised to millions of Nigerians on Monday morning free of charge by Nigerian Television Authority.
“I have not spoken to any journalist, so I don’t know where the report came from. I am sick; I didn’t watch the match (against Brazil),” said James Iheanacho to allnigeriasoccer.com on Tuesday morning.
“It was when I got to the office in the morning that they told me the result.
“Am I the coach of the team? Why should I be angry that Kelechi was substituted. ”
Kelechi Iheanacho went into the game against the South Americans in formidable form, scoring goals aplenty for the youth teams of The Citizens, but he was a shadow of himself before he was substituted.
He was on the books of Taye Academy for 9 years before transferring to City in 2014.
