Vincent Onovo Breaks Inter Turku Duck In The Veikkausliiga
Published: June 25, 2015
In an ideal situation, the Finnish top division tie between Inter Turku and RoPS ( 1 - 1) on Thursday night ought to have four Nigerians on the pitch.
But that did not happen with RoPS winter arrival Adeniyi Michael Ibiyomi dropping to the bench while teammate Faith Friday Obilor was handed his 15th start of the season by manager Juha Malinen.
As for Inter Turku, Vincent Onovo and Philip Njoku made the starting XI but it was the former that stole the headlines when he opened his account for Inter Turku, scoring in the 65th minute against one of the form teams in the Veikkausliiga.
Back in April, Onovo notched 4 goals against today’s opponents in a Suomen Cup tie, which ended 7 - 3 in favour of Inter Turku.
The 19 - year - old midfielder spent 1,074 minutes on the pitch before breaking his duck in the league.
