Eniola Aluko Hoping Third Place Finish Will Motivate England To Win More Silverware

Eniola Aluko finally got some game time in England’s 1- 0 win against Germany at the Fifa Women’s World Cup third - place playoff on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.
With the scoreboard reading goalless, Lionesses manager Mark Samspon brought on the Chelsea forward in the 61st minute to add more firepower to his attack.
Aluko is hoping England’s third place finish will motivate the squad to win more laurels in future competitions.
“Bronze!!!! Unbelievable feeling!! 142 characters cannot do it justice! Highs/Lows whatever it’s been so worth it,” Eniola Aluko said via Twitter.
“So so proud of my @ChelseaLFC teamies @clrafferty1 @chapmans17. Hope this Bronze has started our silverware this year.”
Fara Williams scored the game - winner from the spot in the second period of extra time after the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Lianne Sanderson.
