Competition In Honour Of Kogi State Governor Begins On Saturday

Kogi Governor’s Cup finally returns on Saturday, August 8, 2015 for the first time since 2010 across three centres in the state.
The competition organised by the Kogi State Football Association, (FA) to boost discovery of talents at the grassroots, will be competed for among the 21 Local Governments in the state.
According to the State FA, Mr Augustine Ogunmola, the annual football championship in three selected venues across the state senatorial districts which include Anyigba, Kabba and Okene.
In the Eastern district, nine teams will lock horns while seven and five compete in the west and central respectively for top two places in each centre.
The champions and the runners up at various centres will proceed to the quarter-final stage of the competition which continues in Lokoja.
The final comes up on the 26th of September, 2015 at Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
Kogi Governor’s Cup is the second tournament after Kogi U13 Primary Schools Cup organised by the Mallam Umarr Isah led Kogi FA since inaugurated in March, 2015.
