Joseph Akpala On Target Against Standard Liege

Out - of - favour Super Eagles striker Joseph Akpala lasted the distance as KV Oostende beat Standard Liege 2 - 1 at Stade Maurice Dufrasne in the fifth round of matches in the Belgian Pro League.

The former Club Brugge star reproduced his goalscoring heroics in the 1 -  1 draw against Sint-Truiden two weeks ago after he found the back of the net in the 14th minute.

12 minutes from full time, Knowledge Musona scored the match - winner to give KV Oostende their fourth victory from five matches.

Joseph Akpala has been involved in every single game played by KV Oostende in the Pro League but has only started once.

New arrival and teammate Godwin Saviour did not make the 18 - man squad.
