English Championship outfit Ipswich Town have snapped up striker James Alabi on a one - year deal, with a year option on top, the official website of The Tractor Boys has reported.
The 20 - year - old, who was on the books of Stoke City during the 2014 - 15 season, has been offered a deal after impressing the coaching staff led by Mick McCarthy during trials.
In his first words after completing the transfer, Alabi told itfc.co.uk : “The trial has gone well. I just got my head down and showed the manager what I can do.
“I see this at the start of my career now. I don’t think I have really had the opportunities at other clubs but the manager here has told me to come in, work hard and we will see what happens. ”
Sheffield Wednesday were interested in James Alabi’s signature before he agreed to move to Portman Road until the end of this season.
