Celtic Captain Praises Efe Ambrose Over Red Card
Published: September 29, 2015
Efe Ambrose has been praised by his Celtic teammate Scott Brown for his decision to take a red card for the team in their Scottish Premier League clash against Hearts last weekend.
The Nigeria national - teamer took the walk of shame in the fourth minute of second - half stoppage time for a rash challenge on winger Sam Nicholson.
“Craig’s not had anything to do, but we could have cost ourselves dearly right at the end,” Brown told Celtic TV.
“But it’s one of those things – Efe’s made a great team decision because if the Hearts player had got past Efe and scored a goal it would have been three points lost.”
Ambrose and his teammates will return to action on Thursday when they tackle Turkish side Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
