Published: January 20, 2016
Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi is delighted to be linked with a switch to Scottish champions Celtic in the winter transfer market but has pledged his immediate future to his American club.
Rubin Kazan, Cardiff City, Werder Bremen and Sporting Lisbon are reportedly ready to snap up the 25-year-old if Timbers agree to do business.
The former Dynamo Kiev and FC Copenhagen man has seen his stock rise in the last one year after his goals, 18 in total, assisted Portland Timbers win the 2015 MLS Cup.
“The same way you see these stories is same way I hear from people about it, I can’t confirm anything yet but is good to be liked with such good clubs as a player, ” Fanendo Adi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I have a contract with Portland and I respect the contract, when anything comes up the club and I will sit and figure things out but for now I am a player of Timbers. ”
Adi continued : “It is good to be linked with such clubs and all I can say is let’s see what happens.
“Celtic is a club with big history and it a pleasure to be linked to the club but as I said we will see what happens.”
Fanendo Adi previously represented clubs based in Slovakia, Ukraine and Denmark before joining Portland Timbers in 2014.
