Celtic have denied that they are interested in the acquisition of Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi in the winter transfer market.
The Parkhead outfit were reportedly in the running for the signature of the 25-year-old alongside Cardiff City, Werder Bremen, Rubin Kazan and Sporting Lisbon.
“I am told Celtic are not interested, ”a Celtic insider told allnigeriasoccer.com.
On Wednesday, Fanendo Adi more or less confirmed that there has not been any contact with the Scottish Premier League champions and has pledged his immediate future to Portland Timbers.
He told allnigeriasoccer.com : “The same way you see these stories is same way I hear from people about it, I can’t confirm anything yet but is good to be liked with such good clubs as a player.”
Aalesund frontman Leke James is another Nigerian player that has been linked with a possible move to G40 3RE in recent months.
