Europa League Wrap : Onuachu Shocks Man United; Hassan, Alli, Ideye & Okaka Start; Onomah, Ezekiel & Akanji Benched  Seven players of Nigerian descent were in action in the Europa League on Thursday night.

We start off at the MCH Arena, where FC Midtjylland took on English Premiership giants Manchester United.

Rilwan Hassan played his first competitive game for the Wolves, lasting 67 minutes on the pitch before he was replaced. Teammate Paul Onuachu scored the match-winner in the 77th minute, 17 minutes after he was introduced. It ended 2-1.

Tottenham Hotspur have a good chance of qualifying for the next round after playing out a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi (Firenze).

England midfielder Dele Alli started and played the entirety of the game while Josh Onomah was on the bench.

Stefano Chuka Okaka went the distance as Anderlecht grinded out a 1-0 win against Brown Ideye’s Olympiakos. The Nigeria international played the full game. Imoh Ezekiel was on the bench for the Belgians.

Switzerland youth international Manuel Akanji was on the bench for Basel’s 3-2 loss to Saint-étienne at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

England youth-teamer Jordon Ibe was substituted on in the 81st minute of Liverpool’s goalless draw at Augsburg. Tiago Ilori and Sheyi Ojo did not make the English team’s 18-man squad.

Kehinde Fatai started and played for 89 minutes as Sparta Prague defeated their Russian opponents Krasnodar 1-0.

Super Eagles vice-captain Eddy Onazi failed to make Lazio’s squad against Galatasaray (1-1).
