Liverpool Keeping Tabs On Taiwo Awoniyi At FSV Frankfurt
Published: March 27, 2016
Liverpool are monitoring the performance of Taiwo Awoniyi at FSV Frankfurt, according to the manager of the 2 Bundesliga club Clemens Krüger.
The Nigeria U23 international penned a multi-year contract with the Reds last summer but was immediately shipped out on loan to the Bornheimer after failing to secure a work permit that will enable him play in the English Premier League.
In recent matches, Taiwo Awoniyi has gotten his mojo back and netted his first professional goal as FSV Frankfurt shared the spoils with Heidenheim in a league game before the international break.
“FSV Frankfurt is in constant contact with Liverpool. Regular reporting on Taiwo Awoniyi’s sporting development and on his appearances for the Nigerian under 23 national team takes place also.
“The contact with Liverpool has been very good from the beginning,” Clemens Krüger told tribalfootball.com.
The 18-year-old Awoniyi was named in the starting lineup in the Dream Team VI’s 1-0 win over Brazil in an international friendly on Thursday.
