Published: March 29, 2016
Arsenal attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi is hoping to earn his fourth international cap against Egypt in Alexandria and wants to make Nigerians happy by assisting the Super Eagles beat the North Africans tonight.
The 19-year-old was a second-half substitute in the reverse fixture played in Kaduna four days ago, having struggled with an ailment days leading up to the clash.
“I wish to participate in the game, and make the Nigerian people happy,” Alex Iwobi told youm7.com during training on Tuesday morning.
Chelsea star John Obi Mikel reckons that the large turnout of fans expected at the Borg El Arab Stadium will not prevent the Super Eagles from beating the homers.
The 28-year-old said : “We have great confidence in ourselves to win .We do not care about the large numbers of Egypt fans because this will not hinder us from our mission.
“We are a big team and our goal is to qualify for the African Cup of Nations for the happiness of the Nigerian people.”
