Ola Aina, Fikayo Tomori Star As Chelsea Qualify For UEFA Youth League Showpiece Game
Published: April 15, 2016
The Chelsea U19s have qualified for the final of the UEFA Youth League for a second successive year on the heels of their win against Anderlecht in Switzerland on Friday at Centre sportif de Colovray.
Ola Aina and Fikayo Tomori got manager Adi Viveash’s nod in defense, while the young striker Ike Ugbo was among the seven substitutes.
The English side romped to a 3-0 win in the game against the Belgians, with Palmer,Colkett and Abraham finding the back of the net.
Aina and Tomori, who assisted goalkeeper Bradley Collins post a shutout, went the full 90 minutes, whereas Ugbo did not come off the bench in what would have been his third appearance if he was given a run out.
In Monday’s final, Chelsea will face PSG after the French side saw off Real Madrid in the other semifinal tie.
