Academy Blast Agent Over Nwakali Transfer Imbroglio; Demanded Three Million Pounds Commission From Man City
Published: May 06, 2016
CEO ASJ Academy Emeka Amajiriaku has blasted Belgian-based intermediary Klay Ekeocha for threatening to play spoilsport regarding the proposed transfer of Kelechi Nwakali to Arsenal.
Ekeocha has petitioned Arsenal, informing the London club that they negotiated with a wrong agency, Stellar Group, but the ASJ Academy supremo has picked holes in that, revealing that he could not get a suitable offer for Nwakali and demanded three million pounds agency commission from Manchester City in 2015 after the player underwent trials.
“I recognize Diamond Academy gave Klay Ekeocha a mandate, he failed them, could not bring them a suitable offer after the World Cup,” said Emeka Amajiriaku to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“He did not have the capacity to work, he went to Manchester City and demanded three million pounds agency commission and the club found out he wasn’t serious.
“When we contacted Stellar Group, they brought an offer from Arsenal within eleven days.”
ASJ Academy have revealed that all the parties promised to compensate Klay Ekeocha and offered him the opportunity to work with Stellar Group during negotiations with Arsenal but he refused.
“Klay first came for Kelechi’s elder brother Chidiebere Nwakali but we had handed him to another agent, so we compensated him by giving him Kelechi.
“He brought offers from Fenerbahce, Olympiakos and Red Bull Salzburg, they didn’t make any headway. Nwakali opted to join Arsenal.
“Because of Kelechi Nwakali’s family relationship with Klay, they promised to take care of him. Stellar Group accepted to work with him but he refused.
“Before the World Cup, he sent Kelechi Nwakali to trial with Manchester City, for a player of this magnitude,” Amajiriaku added.
Allnigeriasoccer.com contacted Klay Ekeocha to hear his version of events but he did not answer his calls nor reply to the text messages sent to him.
