Leading Scorer In Swedish Superettan Oke Akpoveta Extends Scoring Streak To Five Games
Published: May 08, 2016
If Oke Akpoveta manages to register his name on the score sheet against Ljungskile next Wednesday, he will extend his scoring streak in the Swedish Superettan to six games having hit target in his team’s 2-2 draw against Sirius on Saturday, May 7.
The ex-Brondby forward has explained that he is topping the scoring charts this season because he has had more playing opportunities compared to when he was in Denmark.
Looking at the bigger picture, Akpoveta has been impressive but IK Frej are struggling, with one point separating them Trelleborg who occupy the last relegation playoff spot.
“I think the game time is more important for me . We just need the last energy to secure 3 points,” said Akpoveta to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“The last two games were supposed to be six points but unfortunately we had two points from both matches . But we are on the right track.”
Oke Akpoveta, 24, scored 4 goals for Lyngby in all competitions in the 2015-2016 season before joining IK Frej in February.
