CSKA Upset By Samuel Injury, Confirm He Is Out For At Least Six Months Director General of CSKA Moscow, Roman Babayev, has confirmed that Nigeria international Aaron Samuel will spend a minimum of six months on the sidelines, and admitted that they are upset by his injury as contract talks had been scheduled to take place with his agent.

The striker underwent two operations at a German hospital last week after damaging his knee ligaments during the first half of the Russian Cup final against Zenit St Petersburg last month.

“We have not even talked to the agent of Olanare.  The operation took place at the end of last week.  Unfortunately, it confirmed the initial diagnosis, damaged front and lateral cruciate ligament,” Babayev  told sport-express.ru.

“In fact, 6-7 months - the minimum recovery time.  In fact, he had two operations.  The situation is difficult.  Let’s sit down, let’s talk with the agent.

“We are upset.  But this is football - nothing can be done.  Not yet ready to announce a decision.”

In seven outings in the Russian Premier League, Aaron Samuel registered his name on the score sheet two times, before his spell on the sidelines.
