Deputy Speaker Intervenes In Dispute Between Obi And Heartland; Resumes Training

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Heartland have been handed a boost ahead of Sunday’s NPFL clash against Wikki Tourists in Owerri, with news that Ebele Obi has resumed training with the club.

The goalkeeper started training with the Naze Millionaires on Tuesday, June 7, having skipped workouts for close to a week amid speculation linking him with a move to FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

Obi’s transfer to FC Ifeanyi Ubah is off again after the glovesman held showdown talks with the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly who insisted that he is not joining the Nnewi side.

During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker promised him a raise just to compensate him for the money that he would have received at FC Ifeanyi Ubah if the transfer had materialized.

Ebele Obi was at the Stadium on Sunday when Heartland faced Rangers but quickly left when things were not going well with his team, with the fans chanting his name when they conceded a penalty.
