Published: June 11, 2016
The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has approved a request by the Nigeria Football Federation for a one minute silence and black armbands in Saturday’s Africa U20 Nations Cup qualifier between the Flying Eagles and Burundi.
The two teams will wear black armbands as a mark of respect for two iconic African coaches Stephen Keshi and Amodu Shuaibu who lost their lives this week in Benin City.
Former Nigeria skipper Stephen Keshi died on Wednesday morning as a result of a suspected heart attack, while Amodu died in his sleep on Saturday after complaining of chest pains on Friday night.
The winner over two legs will tackle Sudan in the third round of the qualifiers.
